What our clients are saying

We would love to post your testimonials here!

"We have been very pleased with our support contract with OpenC3.  Ryan and Jason typically respond to our questions within a few hours, something even after a few minutes after we sent a question.  Their answers greatly accelerate our plugin development. In addition, they are very open to feature requests. For example, we needed the capability to get the binary representation of a command and they released the feature in their next release.  Despite having full access to the source code, we could not move at our current speed without their support."

Mark L.

OpenC3 COSMOS has been great to work with. We have been using it to support our testing, development, and future operations of multiple spacecraft. The software is very capable for our needs with regular updates for features and performance. But the best part is easily the service and support OpenC3 provides. Every inquiry is responded to quickly. Every problem I have had either has a solution or is already on their roadmap for improvement. N. Webb Systems Engineer at Atomos Space

Frequently asked questions

What is OpenC3 COSMOS?

COSMOS brings all the pieces of your system together into a common user interface.

While testing, this might be the custom device you are building, a set of power supplies, a custom simulator device, and an oscilloscope.

During operations, this might be a modem, an antenna control system, and a satellite.

Whatever you need to talk to, COSMOS can handle it. COSMOS sends commands to devices, receives data (telemetry) and breaks the data up in to understandable pieces, logs everything, and provides you with a modern scripting system to automate everything together.

Do you offer support?

Of course. Support is included with our Enterprise Edition, and is available to purchase in blocks of 40 hours  for open source edition.

How are you different than other C2 solutions?

There are many ways, but the most important is easy of use and configuration. One of the main goals of COSMOS is to enable companies to configure their own C2 systems without having to hire an expensive contractors that cost millions of dollars to do something that should be possible to do yourself with the same engineers building the rest of the software for your system.

Beyond that, we use modern technologies, provide all code to our customers, have an open architecture and design, use modern CI/CD processes, and our scripting system is one of a kind with line-by-line highlighting of two full featured programming languages, Ruby and Python. Start our open source version up on your own machine and see for yourself.

What is Enterprise Edition?

Enterprise edition builds upon our Open Source version it makes it ready for multi-user environments.

This means:
1. Multi-User Accounts
2. Role Based Access Control (RBAC)
3. LDAP Support
4. Support for Public and Private Clouds
5. Kubernetes Support
6. Direct Access to the COSMOS Developers
7. A commercial license agreement
8. And More.

Check out the Enterprise link at the top of the page for more details.

Do you offer training?

We currently offer two different training courses. Each is one day in duration and can be done remotely or on site.

The first class is on using COSMOS. All of our tools are configured and a half day is spent on writing quailty scripts.

The second class is devoted to creating COSMOS plugins. Plugins allow you to add any hardware to the COSMOS system through Interfaces and Targets. You can also build custom COSMOS tools, custom telemetry screen widgets, your own background microservices, as well as routers.

How long has COSMOS been around?

COSMOS started as a personal project in 2006, before being used to support integration and test of the SBSS satellite. From there it took off and became the standard tool for I&T for the entire company. COSMOS was open sourced at the end of 2014, and is now used around the world to build, test, and operate everything from satellites to robots. So 17 years so far...
