COSMOS 7.3 Release: Improve Productivity with Script Lifecycles, Alerting Features, and Streamline Future Upgrades
We've made a bunch of enhancements and bug fixes as we continue to improve COSMOS! There are new improvements to Script Runner with history tracking and lifecycles, updates to ensure alerts don't get lost among other notifications, and new protections for Python plugins.
Here’s what to look forward to when upgrading to COSMOS 7.3:
Script Runner Enhancements
Enable Script Lifecycles in Script Runner to change a script from "In Development" to "In Review" to "Approved. Plus, Script Runner now has built-in version history tracking for scripts.
Alert Acknowledgements
Require acknowledgment of alerts so nothing slips through the cracks or gets lost in notifications.
Protect your Python Plugins
COSMOS Python plugins now have their own UV environments to protect against cross-plugin version conflicts.
Streamline Future COSMOS Upgrades
Make your next upgrade even easier on yourself by not having to sync with our defaults. COSMOS 7.3 allows you to diff with the compose.yaml and .env.local files to determine your project-specific modifications and remove any defaults or other settings that you're not explicitly overriding.
Security Notice
Removed org.keycloak.keys.KeyProvider from realm.json. Any COSMOS instances prior to this release caused Keycloak to use existing keys instead of generating new ones. If you're running a public-facing version of COSMOS, it is highly recommended to rotate those keys.
Note: Simply upgrading and restarting does not automatically rotate the keys.
