Never miss a COSMOS notification by connecting it to your favorite communications tools or ticketing platforms! The new Notifications plugin is the latest addition to our COSMOS Enterprise plugin library and seamlessly integrates your COSMOS environment with Slack, Discord, PagerDuty, and Twilio — with more connections coming soon.
You can install and configure the plugin in about the same time it takes to compose a Slack message. Let’s go through the steps!
Open COSMOS and then visit the OpenC3 Store and download the COSMOS Enterprise Notifications plugin.
Once you have this plugin installed, you can enable or disable the four channels currently available: Slack, Discord, PagerDuty, and Twilio. Configure your notifications in your Admin Console Secrets settings by adding your webhook URLs, PagerDuty routing keys, and Twilio credentials.
You can mix and match and choose different message types for different channels. Say you only want errors for SMS and warnings sent to Slack. These can be individually toggled, as well as Regex includes and excludes if there are certain things you don't want to include as part of this so that you don't get bombarded with a bunch of Slack messages.
Once you have this installed, it's so easy to use. It's basically subscribing and listening to the logger messages. So when the logger has specific hits (like LOGGER.ALERT) that trigger a notification within COSMOS, the plugin is triggered too and sends the notification to the channel you’ve connected.
With the OpenC3 COSMOS Notifications plugin you stay informed about critical system events right within your preferred chat or operations management tool. Stay in your flow state by knowing you don’t have to keep checking the notifications tab in COSMOS. Browse the OpenC3 Store to see what other plugins can make your workday easier.
